it's amazing how much we gain when we focus on other people, when we give something not asking for anything in return... and how much we lose when we stay negative, bitchy, angry, even gossiping is quite damaging. I've always had issues with anger, bad attitude and impatience. I've never been one of those popular & successful 'Gossip Girl' sweetie pies. But there you go, you first have to accept yourself and focus on your strengths (mine is ease of meeting new people, it's worse when it comes to keeping good relations), so I try to utilize that skill, by business networking, speaking with new suppliers, 'charming' my way through life :) I imagine myself as this cute Little Deer, and feel like I can do anything - you can't be a bad person with dazzling eyes like that and sweet little pout! So perhaps I'm not as cute as this petite munchkin, people don't have to know that! I can persuade them that I am that cute - wouldn't you say SJP makes it as a day job?

Sometimes my posts are predicted and planned, like promo of Girls Tshirt that just arrived to Little Black Cherry or image of awesome outfit I've found on Polyvore, yet my favourite kind of blogging is uploading semi-random photo from my computer and writing about it, or about what I currently think, what's been puzzling me that particular day, or simply what I've done prior :)

I've just discovered that new cartridge in the printer has nearly run out, although I have bought it barely in September last year... Normally it lasts about a year or so with what I'm using - printing orders, T and Cs, packet labels etc. etc. Nothing too extravagant. Yet it's run out after 5 months... I think it was the brand new logo I have placed on order despatch forms, that caused that. It looked amazing, yet it was completely black, with only white letters of our logo. It might be the case of that logo being printed with every order, that 'drank' out the ink from my poor cartridge. Therefore I've changed the logo on all orders to this one today - outerlined - designed by LBC work placement Abbie McBride - she designed so many kick ass designs for LBC, including Logos, Business Cards, promo products, and she had sweet ideas at the ready :) Thank you Abbie, hope you're keeping well xxx

It was really good to go to London Edge over the weekend, to catch up on all latest arrivals, order few collections for Little Black Cherry and mainly do the 'people-watching'. Oh my, how I love this show, it's one of a kind, glamorous spectacle. I would love to have more time and resources to prepare for the show, have some jaw dropping outfit and crazy hair colour, but after 5 years in alternative fashion business I'm pretty used to this avantgarde, and I know it's not really about me. But everyone rightfully wants to make an impression :)

Anyway my main focus was on product buying for next season for Little Black Cherry - and I really wanted to get few really unique pieces in newspaper design... it's been extremely cold today again, it's still Winter after all... The forecasts say there's another three weeks of cold, which doesn't make me happy. I'm going to London Edge this weekend to order new stock and the temperature in Londres is supposed to be around -2 degrees!

Oh how I don't like cold weather, I knew it must be cold outside, as the heating was working all the time this morning to keep the temperature (normally it's on for an hour, then cools down and on again after few hours). I felt the cold right away when I left home, brrr... I was lucky I went jogging yesterday, although it was rainy and dark I managed to jog in my vest. I wouldn't be able to do it today. I decided it's time to hit the gym tomorrow - it's cosy and warm - and I'm going to wear my Black and White Stripey Girl Tshirt - I love this little Tee. It reminds of me of times when I was training to Half Marathon 3 years ago - I was wearing the same Tee :)

My new hair obsession...

Ok, I must admit, I have got the most irrational attitude with my money. I won't buy Cathedral cheese (my favourite) but instead get Sainsbury's brand cheddar, which is 50p cheaper, or won't buy my favourite nice aromatic coffee but go for the one that's on sale that day, yet later spend £3.50 on one single cup of coffee in Starbucks... My economy is so false, it's unreal...

I'd rather spend £7.00 on new hair styling kit because of my current obsession with wavy hair, instead of buying new quality face cream (which, let's face it, I clearly need). I've dyed my hair some time ago on dark colour, and I absolutely love it, I will stay brunette for a while :) Now after over 30 years of having dead straight hair I lust for California Waves... There's few products that can actually give this effect, without the need of buying curling iron. You can get some sprays and creams that you apply to either damp or dry hair and scrunch your hair till you get desired effect. It looks lovely, well for an outsider not familiar with this sophisticated technique I look like someone who really needs a combe. And mirror, sadly, and the hair gets really dry and dull...

But you get fraction of a wave, who cares about sticky coarse hair if you can sport a WAVE... ahh, I'm sure I'll get better with making my hair curly, and probably buy curling iron at some point, till then I'm happy for my hair to look scruffy but wavy :)

You know, Jack Skellington Nails, tumbstone cupcakes etc etc. I really miss Halloween, it's been so incredibly inspiring, and when I was working on promos I felt like a kid in a Candy store haha :) So forgive me for this little bump, but I started uploading new nail polishes online into our store, and I found this wicked tutorial on how to create Blood Stained nails, hope you like it :)

I absolutely love Christmas and it's magic that wins me over every time, but I have to say my favourite time of year is always Halloween. It's so inspiring, full of creativity, and sinister side of life has always been closer to my heart (as for most people I suppose), therefore Halloween is always something I celebrate more. Maybe it's also that there's less pressure to celebrate it, nobody stands with gun by your nose and say 'Be Merry and spend your last money or else I'll call you Scrooge". But Henry Selick summed it up perfectly in his 'Nightmare Before Christmas' where you could have Christmas in Halloween land :) Also big big thank you goes to VersaEmerge for releasing her very sinister version of 'Santa Baby' this year - it's been played on my youtube channel more than any other song, and I'm happy I'm not alone in my pursuit of sinister icing on Christmas cake :)

Christmas is magical, it's this one special time in the whole year, when we just don't want to think of sad depressing things, like homework still not done, neighbours' dog being loud again or that you just can't stop biting your nails... No, even if you're not great fan of Christmas - and that's me this year - you just can't help yourself, but be charmed and swept away by the Christmas lights you see on the streets, or 'Santa Baby' song on the radio... What's so special about it, that we want to be as good as Santa would like us to be? Why we suddenly can't be bothered to be moody with your parents and teachers, but want to feel like Cinderella, bringing goodness to people, hope and believe that good wins over evil (and it really does >.< ).

Living Dead Souls are one of these design brands that not only survive currently in this tough economic but they are booming... I was thinking today what makes the company or even indyvidual so special, that it seperates them from the rest and let them shine like diamond in the dust. It's gotta be hard work, exceptional attention to detail, focus on the customers and their needs, and having your products as straighforward as possible. Now, exactly that! We are being snowed under every hour of every day from every angle with the ads and promotions, which makes simplicity the most powerful thing!

But by comparing the biggest clothing brands now doing so well, like Poizen Indsutries, Iron Fist, Living Dead Souls (only to mention the alternative labels), I've noticed that they like to surprise the customer. In the most positive way, of course, whether it is by adding logo printed in awesome font, and placed on the inner side, or by adding extra jewelled skull detail to zipper pull, or simply not simply sewing the bunny ears on the hodie, but attaching them with little buttons. I think it makes the wearing process much more exciting and make customer think - "oh, how about if I buy this new Monster Hoodie with ears, what will I discover, how will they surprise me this time?"

It's also adding value, and this is the difference that makes these clothing so special, as curently it's not enough to be good, you have to be exceptional, and that's what Living Dead Souls and Poizen Industries are all about.

We've had busy week in Little Black Cherry, even with Halloween wrapped up warmly in past week, there's always new things that happen in our Delicious Little World. Our days this week could be summed by two words: Paws & Spikes! It's Poizen Industries collection, so so long awaited! It arrived disguised in brown box, but after opening it it was just a happy bundle of hot pink, blue and purple fluffyness... Even blue monster hat has got long ears that turn into monster paws... I love it, and the best part was getting to write descriptions for these items, I sat down with each Monster Hoodie, fluffy Scene Hat and Ear Muffs and came up with most delicious words that could describe them... It's all coming online very soon, and yes, we've finally started talking about the photo shoot too!
